Las Vegas, NV : Bicyclist killed after being struck by a car on Las Vegas, Friday, July 25, 2014

A bicyclist was killed Friday after being struck by a car on south Las Vegas Boulevard, Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 4:15 p.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard between Pyle and Cactus avenues. According to NHP, a 36-year-old female driver of a Nissan Maxima struck the bicyclist. The 41-year-old male bicyclist died while being transported to the hospital. The driver did stay at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

NHP arrested the female driver for suspicion of DUI drugs and alcohol. Las Vegas Boulevard is closed between Pyle and Cactus.
