Oak Grove, OR : Passenger dies after car crashed into a pole in Oak Grove on Sunday, February 15, 2015

The passenger in a Maserati died around midnight Sunday after the car crashed into a pole along Southeast Jennings Avenue in Oak Grove.

Alcohol and speed could have caused the deadly crash, deputies at the scene told KATU News.

Emergency crews arrived at Southeast Jennings and Jade Court around 12 a.m. Sunday to find that the passenger had died.

The driver was pulled from the wrecked car and taken to the hospital. No word from officials on the extent of that person’s injuries.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash as vehicular homicide.

The roadway was closed for several hours while investigators reconstructed the crash.
