A local man is in the hospital after a single-motorcycle accident Friday.
Scott Van Krevelen, 67, was traveling west on Garriott and turned south onto Van Buren at 3:13 p.m. Friday when his motorcycle hit a patch of gravel, Enid Police Department Lt. Tim Jacobi said.
Van Krevelen lost control of the motorcycle. and it spun 180 degrees and left the road, Jacobi said. Van Krevelen was ejected and taken to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, then transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with brain bleeds, broken ribs and a broken orbital socket, Jacobi said.

As of Monday afternoon, Van Krevelen was in good condition at OU Medical Center, his wife, Sally, said.
"He has a clot in his brain, but it's not bleeding anymore," she said, adding his shoulder was broken as well. "He was in the ICU, but he is doing better now. He has a lot of road rash and a big bruise on his side... He has a severe head injury, but cognitively, he is OK."
Sally Van Krevelen said she hopes they will be able to return to Enid by Friday.
The Van Krevelens own and operate Van's House, a sober living environment in Enid to help people kick addictions.
