Alexandria,SD : Alexandria man dies in farming accident on January, Saturday 20th 2018

A 27-year-old man died in a farming accident near Alexandria Saturday morning.

The man, John Arthur Kayser, sustained fatal injuries after getting stuck in a cattle chute that morning. Crews responded to the report around 9:45 a.m., said Hanson County Sheriff Brandon Wingert.

Kayser passed away from his injuries at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary of Mercy Catholic Church in Alexandra. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
