New Smyrna Beach, FL : Pedestrian hit by car on I-95 in Volusia County on Friday January 1 2016.

I-95 was shut down in south Volusia County Friday because a pedestrian was hit by a car.
The crash happened in the area of Maytown Road in the southbound lanes of the interstate.
Florida Highway Patrol confirms a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle. That person was airlifted to Central Florida Hospital.
No word on why they were on the highway.
