Chandler, TX : Nicola Haley, 65, died in a crash on Highway 155 in Smith County on Friday morning, August 26, 2016

A woman is dead after driving off the roadway on State Highway 155, near CR 1102, and striking a telephone pole.

According to Department of Transportation Troopers, Nicola Haley, 65, of Larue, was traveling south on 155 when her vehicle went off the roadway.

A DPS preliminary crash investigation revealed that she overcorrected and lost control of her vehicle before it slid into a ditch, crashed into a telephone pole on the driver’s side and overturned.

Haley was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Gary Alfred.

Her body was taken to Chandler Funeral Home in Chandler. She was the only passenger in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.
