Sacremento, CA :10-year-old, 2 others injured in Interstate 80 wreck on Tuesday, July 7th 2015
A 10-year-old and two others were injured when an SUV and big rig crashed on eastbound Interstate 80 near Antelope.The California Highway Patrol said that at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, an SUV and another vehicle attempted to change into the same lane on eastbound I-80. To avoid the crash, the driver of the SUV moved into the slow lane, hitting the big rig, authorities said. The driver of the SUV and two passengers, including the 10-year-old boy, were taken to UC Davis Medical Center with injuries.All three are expected to recover.The three right lanes of eastbound I-80 were closed after the crash. All lanes had reopened by 2:35 p.m.Westbound I-80 was also closed for a few minutes as a medical helicopter landed in the area, but it has since reopened, according to Caltrans.KCRA 3 received calls from viewers saying traffic was at a standstill for about an hour in the area.
