Henderson, KY : Motorcyclist killed in crash on South Green Street on Tuesday afternoon, November 15, 2016
A motorcyclist was killed in a fatal crash in the 1700 block of South Green Street on Tuesday afternoon.
The motorcyclist, Jermaine Johnson, 31, was struck by a van while traveling northbound on South Green Street at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from Henderson Police Department.
The van pulled out of the F5 Carwash to go south on South Green Street. Johnson was unable to stop or avoid the van.
Johnson's motorcycle struck the front driver's side of the van, causing him to become airborne, police said.
Johnson was transported to Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the van, who was not identified, was transported to Methodist Hospital with a non-life threatening injury. The van also had two other occupants, according to police.
Henderson Police Department is working on an accident reconstruction along with assistance from the Henderson County Sheriff's Office and Coroner Bruce Farmer.
All lanes of South Green Street between Drury Lane and Yeaman Lane are closed Tuesday evening until the reconstruction is complete. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
