Jacksonville man killed in weekend traffic accident

Jacksonville police identified the teen this morning who was killed in a weekend traffic accident as Katherine Lindsey Bane, 17.Police said Bane, of 1932 Delray Ave., and a second person were walking along the side of the road in the 7400 block of Shindler Drive about 12:45 a.m. Saturday when they were struck by a vehicle that didn't see them.Both victims were hit. Bane was pronounced dead at the scene; her unidentified companion refused to be transported to hospital.Police have not released the driver's identification and no charges have been filed. The investigation is continuing.
