Jacksonville Beach , FL :64-year-old bicyclist injured after hit by car While riding bicycle on Friday night ,April 3rd 2015

The 700 block of eastbound Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville Beach was closed for several hours Friday night due to a traffic crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is dealing with the crash.

According to Cmdr. Mark Evans, a 64-year-old woman was riding a bicycle southbound on 7th Street North and crossed Beach Boulevard.

Evans said a vehicle was westbound in the inside travel lane when the bicyclist possibly rode into the vehicle's path.

The bicyclist suffered possible trauma to her head but was speaking with rescue crew members who were working to transport her to UF Health Jacksonville.
