OAKLAND, MD : A two-vehicle crash on Ben DeWitt Road on Monday, June 5, 2017

Two Preston County, West Virginia, residents were injured Monday in a two-vehicle crash on Ben DeWitt Road and Garrett Highway south of Oakland, according to the Garrett County Sheriff's Office.

Michelle Harsh, 18, and Jimmy Whitehair, 62, both of Eglon, were taken to the Garrett Memorial Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Police said the crash occurred when Harsh allegedly failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle operated by Whitehair.

Southern Garrett Rescue Squad, Union Rescue Squad and Oakland Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene, police said.

Charges are pending in the ongoing investigation.
