Vancouver, WA : Three hurt, one seriously, in apparent head-on crash near WSU-Vancouver on Tuesday afternoon, June 28, 2016
Firefighters responded to extract a seriously injured man from the mangled wreck of his car following a crash Tuesday afternoon in the Mt. Vista neighborhood, east of Washington State University-Vancouver.
Clark County Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Dawdy said firefighters were called to a report of a crash near 5512 N.E. 159th St. around 2:30.
They arrived to find a small car had collided with a large pickup in what initially looked like a head-on crash, he said.
A young man inside the car was badly hurt and entangled in the car. Firefighters cut him out and transported him to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where Dawdy said he was listed as in serious condition.
Two older people inside the pickup received minor injuries, he said, and they were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Everyone was wearing seat belts, Dawdy said
“You can see how important using restraints is, especially in a crash like this,” he said.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office was investigating.
