Walker County, AL : 58-year-old pedestrian killed after being struck on Old Hwy 78 in Walker County on Wednesday, March 4, 2015

A Cordova woman was killed when she was hit by a car Tuesday night in Walker County.

The crash happened about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 78, about five miles east of Jasper. Alabama state troopers identified the victim today as Debra LeVan Stewart, 48.

Stewart, a pedestrian, was hit by a 2009 Ford Fusion. The driver of that car did stop at the scene, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
