CHATEAUGAY, NY : New Hampshire man killed in 2-vehicle crash in northern NY on Wednesday, 19th December 2018
New York State Police say a 76-year-old New Hampshire man has died in a two-vehicle crash near the Canadian border.
Troopers say Michael Stafford, of Hinsdale, New Hampshire, was traveling west on state Route 11 around 2 p.m. Wednesday when he attempted to make a left-hand turn in the Franklin County town of Chateaugay (SHAT’-uh-gay), on the Canadian border 155 miles (249 kilometers) north of Albany.
Police say Stafford pulled in front of a pickup truck towing a trailer being driven by an 81-year-old man from the town of Jay in neighboring Essex County. The vehicles collided and the pickup and trailer overturned.
Stafford was pronounced dead at the scene.
