Volusia County, FL : Elderly man killed in train-truck crash in Volusia County on Monday, 20th January, 2020

An 87-year-old man died early Monday when his pickup truck was hit by a freight train southwest of DeLand about 1:15 a.m.
The truck turned from W. Beresford Road near Alexander Drive and headed south on the train tracks, according to a preliminary report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The northbound train could not stop in time.
The pickup driver, a DeLand resident, died at the crash scene. Troopers identified him as Billy Clark Davis.
The two occupants of the train were uninjured.
