MORGAN, UT : A teen from Taylor died as a result on Friday, November, 17th 2017
A teen from Taylor died as a result of a Friday morning car crash in Morgan.
Around 10 a.m. Friday, a semitrailer was pulling off to the right side of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 near mile marker 99 in an attempt to stop in the emergency lane, according to a press release from the Utah Department of Public Safety.
The semitrailer was almost completely stopped when a Hyundai Sonata lost control, slid sideways and hit the back end of the trailer. The driver lost control of the car and hit the semitrailer due to the slushy road conditions, the release said.
The driver of the Hyundai — a 17-year-old boy from Taylor who was not named in the press release — was killed as a result of the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The semitrailer driver was not injured in the crash.
