Bryant student killed in campus crash
A freshman at Bryant University was killed early Thursday morning in a single-car crash on the school's campus.According to police, five undergraduates were in a vehicle traveling on Physical Road just before 1 a.m. when control was lost and it struck a tree.Investigators said the driver was bending down to pick something up while he was driving down the poorly-lit campus road and lost control of the car.One of the students was transported to the hospital by Life Flight due to the extent of his injuries, but he passed away soon after.The student who was killed in this crash has been identified as Christiano Barbosa.The other four passengers were treated at the hospital and released, police said.The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
