Harper Woods, MI : Eastpointe man dies in one-car crash on I-94 at Woodmont Avenue on Sunday morning, December 20, 2015

A 38-year-old Eastpointe man died early Sunday morning in a one-car crash on Interstate 94 in Harper Woods, according to Michigan State Police.

Malcom Pennington was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred at about 3:10 a.m. on eastbound I-94 at Woodmont Avenue, police said. Pennington was driving a 2003 Toyota when he lost control and drove up an embankment, police said. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, police added.
