BLUEMONT, VA : A 16-year-old Berryville boy died in a crash on River Road on Thursday, December, 7th 2017

A 16-year-old Berryville boy died Thursday from a Wednesday crash on River Road.

Sgt. F.L. "Les" Tyler, a state police spokesman, said troopers continue to investigate why Landen Allen Warren crashed into a tree. He said Warren was pronounced dead at 4:22 p.m. Thursday at Inova Fairfax Hospital where he was flown after the crash.

Warren was southbound on River Road about a mile south of Harry Byrd Highway (Va. 7). The crash occurred on a straight stretch of road between Old Ferry Lane and Bridge Lane near the Shenandoah River.

Warren, who was driving a four-door 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, veered slightly right off the two-lane road for about 30 yards before striking the tree. There were no skid marks on the road in the area of the crash.
