Verona Beach, NY : An Oneida County man is dead following motorcycle accident on Saturday, July 15, 2017

An Oneida County man is dead following an early Saturday morning motorcycle accident.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, Donald E. McEathron, 41, of Verona Beach, sustained fatal injuries after he was ejected from his bike.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., Oneida County deputies responded to a report of a serious personal injury involving a motorcycle near Holmes Marina.

Upon initial investigation, deputies determined McEathron was operating a black 1995 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Oneida Street before exiting the shoulder of the roadway which resulted in ejection from the vehicle.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police and members of the Sylvan Beach Fire Department and Rescue.
