Cincinnati, OH : 66-year-old man killed in single-vehicle crash in Mount Lookout on Sunday morning, June 5, 2016

A 66-year-old man was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Columbia Parkway after his pickup struck a barrier wall, police said.

The crash happened shortly after 8 a.m. in the 5300 block of Columbia Parkway in Mount Lookout, according to a news release from Cincinnati police.

Gary Smith was driving a Chevrolet 1500 west on the roadway, when he "failed to control his vehicle and struck the median barrier wall," the news release said.

Smith, who was wearing a seat belt, succumbed to his injuries at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, the news release said.

Impairment and speed don't appear to be factors in the crash, police said.
