LENTNER, MO : Five suffer minor injuries in crash on U.S. 36, 2 miles west on Wednesday, 5th February, 2020

Five Shelton, Wash., residents -- including four children -- suffered minor injuries Wednesday after the SUV they were in slid off a snow-covered road in Shelby County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that a 2000 Ford Expedition driven by Shawna M. Vargas, 35, was heading east at 2:55 p.m. on U.S. 36, 2 miles west of Lentner, when the vehicle slid off the south side of the road, struck a private driveway and overturned.

Vargas and the children, ranging in age from infant to 15, were taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.

Police said all occupants were wearing seat belts.

Assisting at the scene were the Salt River Ambulance, Shelby County Sheriff's Department and Shelbina Fire Department.
