One person was killed as a result of an accident involving a car and a motorcycle Tuesday morning in Wilmington.
According to New Hanover County dispatchers, someone called 911 just after 7:15 a.m. to report a crash near the intersection of South College Road and Peachtree Avenue, which is between Wrightsville and Wilshire.
According to Sgt. Pope with the State Highway Patrol, it appears law enforcement was chasing a vehicle when it ran through the traffic light on Kerr Ave. and collided with the motorcycle.
The identity of the person killed is being withheld until next of kin has been notified.
