Bithlo, FL : Orlando man killed in crash with semi on State Road 50 in Bithlo on Monday, April 11, 2016

Troopers are clearing a semi-truck crash that killed a 41-year-old Orlando man and shut down State Road 50 in Bithlo for more than 4 hours.

Donald Davis was heading north on Berkeley Street approaching S.R. 50, also known as Colonial Drive, about 3:20 a.m., when witnesses told troopers he ran a stop sign, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Davis' 2001 GMC pickup traveled into the direct path of a semi-truck heading east on S.R. 50, according to FHP. The front of the semi collided with the driver's side of Davis' pickup.

He died at the scene, troopers said.
