Terre Haute, IN : Two hurt in cycle crash on I-70 west of the Illinois/Indiana state line on Friday morning, August 19, 2016
Two Missouri residents were injured Friday morning when their three-wheel motorcycle crashed on eastbound Interstate 70 near the 152-mile post in Clark County, Illinois.
Illinois State Police District 12 reported the crash occurred at 10:10 a.m. about two miles west of the Illinois/Indiana state line.
James T. Eggleston, 59, of St. Ann, Missouri, was driving a 2013 Harley Davidson when the rear left-side tire came loose from the axle and fell off. The trike skidded out of control across the median and turned onto its side.
Both the driver and his passenger, 54-year-old Ruth Eggleston, were thrown off.
The motorcycle continued to skid across the westbound lanes before coming to rest in a ditch north of I-70.
Both occupants were wearing helmets. They were transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment.
