south Lawrence , KS : One person was killed after Car Crash on tractor trailer and a passenger car collided near Kasold Road on Tuesday , December 23rd 2014

One person is dead after a crash Tuesday afternoon on K-10 highway in south Lawrence.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a tractor trailer and a passenger car collided about 4 p.m. near Kasold Road.

Details surrounding the event were unavailable at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday. At that point, investigators had been on scene for approximately five hours.

A release from the Kansas Department of Transportation said the westbound and eastbound lanes of the highway near the interchange would be closed while investigators were on scene.
