Pearl City, IL : One dead after rollover crash at Illinois Route 73 and Hershey Road Saturday, May 7, 2016

A one-car rollover at Illinois Route 73 and Hershey Road Saturday killed a driver and sent the passenger to the hospital with injuries.

The Stephenson County Sheriff’s office is investigating the accident, which occurred around 5 p.m. Saturday, according a Sheriff’s department news release.

Medical technicians determined that the driver was dead at the scene as a result of injuries caused by the rollover. The victim was airlifted to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing. Lifeline Helicopter, the Pearl City Fire Department, Peal City Ambulance, Leamon’s Ambulance and the Stephenson County Coroner’s office assisted the sheriff’s department on the scene.

The names of the victims haven’t been released and no further information was available Sunday, according to the sheriff’s department.
