Two people were injured in separate single-vehicle crashes Sunday in Pierce County.

In the first, the Pierce County sheriff’s office was notified at 10:16 a.m. of a motorcycle crash in the area of N3880 Highway O in the town of Diamond Bluff. The sheriff’s office reported that a 1998 Honda Shadow operated by Jon T. Fila, 41, of Stillwater, Minn., was southbound on Highway O when it left the roadway, entered the ditch, overturned and ejected the operator. Fila was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, Minn., with undetermined injuries.

The second crash, reported shortly after 1 p.m., involved a rollover on 640th Avenue near 1000th Street in the town of Oak Grove. The sheriff’s office reported that a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis was westbound on 640th when it lost control, entered the ditch, struck a tree and overturned.

The driver, Michael J. Simones, 60, of Prescott, was extricated from the vehicle and transported by helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undetermined injuries.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
