Clarksville, TN : Motorcyclist injured in Clarksville wreck early Tuesday evening, April 4, 2017

A 57-year-old motorcyclist was hospitalized after a wreck early Tuesday evening on Riverside Drive in Clarksville.

The man, who was not immediately identified by police, was riding his 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on the roadway at about 4:15 p.m. when the vehicles in from of him stopped abruptly.

After swerving into the center lane to avoid a collision, he laid the bike down, was thrown and rolled several times before coming to a stop, police said in a news release.

He was transported by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville to be treated for his injuries.

Police said the wreck is being investigated and charges are pending.
