Winchester,VI : Reports indicate fatal crash this evening on Va. 7 included a moped or scooter on January, Monday 22th 2018

Preliminary reports indicate a person traveling on a moped or scooter was killed tonight in the 2700 block of Berryville Pike in Frederick County.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

Virginia State Police are investigating the crash.

Lt. Warren Gosnell, head of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division, was not at the scene, but said reports indicate a person on a scooter was struck by a vehicle, ejected, then struck by a second vehicle.

The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes at approximately 8:40 p.m.
