Pleasant Grove, AL : Hueytown man killed when car crashes into tree in Pleasant Grove Wednesday evening on August 27, 2014

A Hueytown man was killed in a single-car wreck in Pleasant Grove Wednesday evening. William Clemons, 68, was killed when the Corvette he was driving left the road and hit a tree in the 1400 block of Fourth Street Wednesday evening, Pleasant Grove police Sgt. Daniel Reid said. A passerby saw car crashed off the side of the road and called police at 7:40 p.m., Reid said. The Corvette was the only vehicle involved in the wreck. The cause of the wreck is under investigation, and Clemons' body has been turned over to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
