Yakima, WA : Union Gap man injured in motorcycle crash on U.S. Hwy. 12 on Thursday, August 31, 2017

Carlos A. Montero, who was injured in a Wednesday night crash on U.S. Highway 12, remains hospitalized Thursday in good condition.

NACHES, Wash. -- A Union Gap motorcyclist was injured in a Wednesday night crash about 1 mile east of Naches on U.S. Highway 12.

Troopers say Carlos A. Montero, 28, was headed east about 8 pm. on Highway 12 when his 2008 Honda motorcycle struck a 2014 Ducati Superbike motorcycle driven by Jacob R. Monson, 23, of Selah.

Monson was not injured, but Montero was taken to Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital. An update on his condition was not immediately available.

The state patrol said it expects to cite Montero for following too close.
