Atchison County, KS : Man ejected from motorcycle in Atchison County crash on US-59 highway at 254th Road on Tuesday, 31st July 2018

A Valley Falls man was ejected from his motorcycle Tuesday in a crash in Atchison County.

The incident was reported at 6:44 p.m. on US-59 highway at 254th Road, just south of Parnell, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Allison N. Herbig, 18, of Cummings, was driving a 2018 Ford Focus south on US-59 and preparing to turn onto 254th Road. Clay A. Biester, 58, was also headed south, riding a 1995 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He struck the Focus and was ejected, according to a crash report. He and the motorcycle entered the west ditch.

Biester was taken to the University of Kansas Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet, the patrol said.

Herbig was taken to Atchison Hospital with a possible injury. She was wearing a seat belt.
