Bluefield, WV : One Man dies in a tractor trailer accident on U.S. Route 460 in Buchanan County on Sunday October 16 2016

A man recently involved in a tractor trailer accident on U.S. Route 460 in Buchanan County passed away on Sunday, according to Virginia State Police Trooper J.R. Ward.

Ward said Ralph Lee Tester, 88, of Vansant, Va., was pronounced dead Sunday at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Tester was operating a 2001 Lincoln Continental, Ward said.

The accident occurred on west bound U.S. Route 460 approximately a half mile east of 604 in Buchanan County, according to Ward.

"There was a second vehicle involved and that was a Peterbilt tractor trailer 357," Ward said. "Mr. Tester pulled out on Route 460 to go west bound and pulled into the path of vehicle number two (the tractor trailer). The Peterbilt struck him in the drivers side."

Tester was transported to Holston Valley Medical Center following the accident on Oct. 12. He was pronounced deceased on Sunday.
