EAST MOLINE, IL : One hurt in multiple-vehicle East Moline crash on Wednesday, December 28th 2016

A multiple-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in East Moline sent one person to the hospital.

East Moline police said they responded to a report of a crash at 12:09 p.m. when a westbound vehicle on Avenue of the Cities tried to turn left onto Kennedy Drive and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The force of the collision pushed the second vehicle into a third vehicle stopped at the light, police said.

A passenger inside the first vehicle was transported to Genesis-Silvis with nonlife-threatening injuries. The driver of the first vehicle was cited for failure to yield turning left.

No additional information on the accident was released Wednesday.

One lane of traffic on Avenue of the Cities was closed for about 20 minutes, according to police. East Moline Fire Department also assisted in response to the crash.
