Santiam Pass ,OR :Soccer team on school bus OK after fatal crash on Thursday afternoon ,September 3rd 2015

Highway 20 was closed for several hours in both directions just west of Santiam Pass following a fatal crash involving a school bus and a passenger vehicle Thursday afternoon.

The students involved were from Sheldon High School in the Eugene School District. The students, members of the soccer team, on board the bus were OK, their school confirmed. Oregon State Police said two occupants on the school bus received minor injuries.

Oregon State Police said the driver of the passenger vehicle died.

The crash was reported around 2 p.m. near milepost 79.

Oregon State Police said a 1993 Chevrolet pickup traveling westbound crossed the centerline and hit the eastbound school bus. The driver of the pickup, Camille Nelson, 32, of Wilsonville, died.
