PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH : One dead after two-car accident on State Route 199 in Perrysburg Twp on Thursday, 27th June 2024

One man is dead following a two car accident on State Route 199 in Perrysburg.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, on June, at around 8:15 p.m., Elliott Downard was driving a Toyota Avalon westbound on Dowling Road toward the intersection of SR 199. Downard allegedly failed to stop for the stop sign and was struck by a Ford F-150 truck traveling southeast on SR 199. Following the collision, Downard’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. The truck also traveled off the right side of the road and came to rest in a ditch.

OSHP says Downard was transported by life flight to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck and a juvenile passenger were transported by to the hospital with minor injuries.
