WEST HAVEN, CT : A two vehicle crash in New Haven on Tuesday, 26th December 2017

State police have located the suspect who they say was involved in a chase and a two vehicle crash in New Haven Tuesday afternoon.

Police say they found 21-year-old Christopher Villot of New Haven following a search that lasted for several hours after the incident.

Investigators told News 8 that they were conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Boston Post Road and Marginal Drive in West Haven around 12:30 p.m.

According to West Haven police, officers tried to stop a vehicle which instead entered New Haven and fled north on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard. The vehicle then careened through an intersection and collided with a Vovlo being driven by 71-year-old Barbara Rosner on Route 34 in New Haven. The Volvo was propelled on top of a guardrail while Villot’s Honda Civic came to a stop within the intersection.

The Civic, which police say had a misused registration plate, was allegedly being driven by Villot.

Officers say Villot and the two other occupants of his vehicle, Kenneth Villot and Justin Marrero, were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Rosner suffered serious injuries and was also taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.

Officials closed a portion of Ella T. Grasso Boulevard for a period of time before it reopened just after 5 pm.
