Nevada, IA : Driver airlifed after crash-landing in creek along highway on Monday morning, June 22, 2015
An air ambulance was dispatched to a crash on Highway 30 Monday morning.
It landed at the scene about 11:40 a.m., just west of Nevada.
One of the cars involved landed in a deep ditch that workers had to pull the driver out of.
One person was taken by helicopter to a Des Moines hospital.
A Story County deputy said the driver was headed eastbound on the highway. A witness saw the car go under bridge into the creek east of 590th.
The deputy said the driver reported that someone tried to run him off road, causing the crash.
Story County, Nevada police, Cambridge fire were all on scene of crash.
The driver's name and condition are not yet available.
