Nowata, OK : Five Killed In Head-On Wreck South Of Nowata on Saturday, November 22, 2014
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said U.S. 169 reopened Saturday after a fatal vehicle crash.
Authorities said a head-on collision blocked the roadway in northeast Oklahoma for more than two hours. The accident was on U.S. 169, one-quarter mile north of County Road EW27.
Authorities said Micah Walker, 35, Kevin Smith, 59, Maria Smith, 49, and a 13-year-old juvenile were killed in the crash.
Officials said Walker was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, which went left of center and hit a 2014 Kia Soul head-on. They said Kevin Smith was driving the Soul. They said Maria Smith and the juvenile who died were also in the Kia Soul.
Authorities said a third passenger, a 14-year-old juvenile, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was in critical condition.
