Wilmington, DE : One person injured in a Vehicle-motorcycle collision near New Castle on Wednesday afternoon, March 8, 2017

A Wednesday afternoon collision involving a motorcycle and automobile injured a 50-year-old man, county paramedics said.

Emergency crews were called to the 3600 block of N. Du Pont Highway near New Castle and located a 50-year-old man who was ejected from his motorcycle after colliding with another vehicle, said Cpl. David McKinney of the New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was treated at the scene for a head and leg injury and body-wide abrasions, McKinney said.

The patient was transported to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from the Minquadale Fire Company with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying, McKinney said.

He was listed as stable upon transport.

The driver of the automobile was not transported to the hospital.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the crash.
