Topeka, KS : Man injured early Thursday in car-deer crash on Kansas Turnpike near Lecompton exit on Thursday, 3rd November 2016
A man was hospitalized early Thursday after the car he was driving struck a deer on the Kansas Turnpike near the Lecompton exit in Douglas County, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 2:50 a.m. near the Lecompton exit on Interstate 70 along the turnpike.
According to the turnpike authority’s online crash log, a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling west on I-70 when it struck a deer that was in the roadway.
The car’s driver, Clint L. Huffman, 43, of Blue Springs, Mo., was reported to have been injured in the crash and was taken to an area hospital. Huffman, who was alone in the car, was wearing a seat belt, according to the crash log.
