STOUGHTON, MA : One injured in 3-car accident on Route 24 in Stoughton on Wednesday, 14th March 2018

One person was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries after a three-car accident during rush hour on Route 24 on Thursday.

Southbound traffic was at a standstill as state police responded to the accident, near the Route 139 off ramp in Stoughton, about 5:15 p.m.

A Stoughton ambulance also responded to the scene. The injured person was reported to be conscious and breathing.

Traffic was backed up several miles to the Route 128 split at 6 p.m., according to WBZ, and the crash closed the right and center lanes in the area of Exit 20.

The accident came three hours after a rollover crash on Route 24 northbound in West Bridgewater, where a 20-year-old Somerset woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The vehicle, a 2001 Nissan Altima, landed on its roof in the high-speed lane, state police said.
