Naples, FL : Man charged with DUI manslaughter after fatal three-car collision on Golden Gate Boulevard on Saturday night, December 12, 2015

A Naples man was killed and a woman was seriously injured after three cars collided on Golden Gate Boulevard Saturday night.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Rene Miles, 40, was driving eastbound on Golden Gate Boulevard near 27th St SW when his 2007 Nissan Pathfinder collided with a car in front of him being driven by Julie Beauplan. Beauplan's 2006 Dodge Durango rotated counter-clockwise, traveling across the median and into the westbound lanes of Golden Gate Boulevard.

James Riner II, who was driving a 2015 Honda Odyssey in the inside westbound lanes of Golden Gate Boulevard, collided with Beauplans' SUV. His mini-van rotated clockwise then overturned.

Riner, 33, and Beauplan, 41, were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. Riner was pronounced dead. Beauplan is seriously injured. A 13-year-old passenger in Beauplan's vehicle was not injured.

Miles was not injured in the crash, which occurred around 7 p.m. He has been charged with DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash.

Riner's wife Jessica, 33, was a passenger in the mini-van with him. She suffered minor injuries according to the FHP report.

David Engel, Jessica Riner's brother, said Jessica broke her jaw in the crash.

Engel said the Riners have four sons. "The boys are a wreck," he said.

Engel said James Riner, who is know as Cecil to many, worked at a Lowes Home Improvement store in East Naples.
