Cape Coral, FL : Man arrested for DUI after serious crash on Hancock Bridge Parkway on Saturday night, February 7, 2015
A Cape Coral man was arrested after police say he caused a multi-vehicle crash that sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries Saturday night.
The crash happened around 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Del Prado Boulevard and Hancock Bridge Parkway.
Police say an SUV, driven by Joseph Scafuri, was on Del Prado Boulevard when he entered into a turning lane at Hancock Bridge Parkway and hit a motorcycle, driven by 43-year-old Aaron William Pfuhl.
Pfuhl's motorcycle then hit another motorcyle, driven by Benajmin Lewis Hale. Both motorcycles were stopped for traffic at the time.
Pfuhl was transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert. Police say he is in serious but stable condition. The other motorcyclist was not injured.
While investigating the crash, police say they noticed signs of impairment in Scafuri, the SUV driver. He was placed under arrest and charged with DUI.
