Indianapolis, IN : One person injured in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 near the Brookston exit Monday morning, May 16, 2016
One man received life-threatening injuries during a single-vehicle crash Monday morning on Interstate 65 near the Brookston exit.
Jonathan Dearaujo-Batista, 24, of Cincinnati was extricated from his vehicle and transported by helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, according to an Indiana State Police news release.
Sgt. Kim Riley said in the written release that Dearaujo-Batista was in a 2008 Honda Civic traveling northbound when he drifted left, over-corrected and then crossed both lanes of the highway, leaving the right side of the road and causing the vehicle to roll several times before coming to a rest on its wheels.
A preliminary investigation suggests Dearaujo-Batista was wearing his seat belt and that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash, the news release states.
