Jacksonville, FL : 19-year-old Jacksonville man died after his motorcycle crash on April, Saturday 15th 2017

A 19-year-old Jacksonville man died after his motorcycle crashed Saturday night on Interstate 10 westbound near the exit ramp to U.S. 17, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Michael J. Vecchio died following the crash that occurred shortly after 5 p.m. He was driving a Suzuki sport bike west on I-10 when the motorcycle veered off the road and struck the center concrete median barrier, then hit a utility police, according to the Highway Patrol.

Vecchio was thrown off the motorcycle. He died after being taken to UF Health Jacksonville. Vecchio had been wearing a helmet, the Highway Patrol said.Three lanes of I-10 at Stockton Street were closed for about two hours as a result of the crash.
