ESSEX, MD : Driver in fatal hit-and-run contacts authorities on April, Sunday 9th 2017
Maryland State Police say the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash has contacted authorities.
Police said in a statement that the driver and her counsel went to the Golden Ring barrack on Sunday afternoon, more than 12 hours after the crash on the ramp from northbound Jones Falls Expressway to the outer loop of Interstate-695. Police say no charges have been filed.
Investigators say 30-year-old Ramon Purvey of Owings Mills was standing next to his car on the shoulder of the ramp Early Sunday when he was struck by a sport utility vehicle. Purvey was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the cause and contributing factors of the crash remain under investigation and prosecutors will determine what charges will be filed.
