A Pasco couple died when a service truck hit their car on the shoulder of Interstate 82 about five miles southeast of Yakima.

Washington State Patrol troopers say 71-year-old JoAn Shure and 66-year-old Leonard Shure died at the scene of the crash two miles from Union Gap Friday afternoon.

Brent Owens of Yakima was driving the Ford F-550 that stuck the Shure's Cadillac. He was taken to a Yakima hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Authorities are investigating.
