Mentone ,IN :Two airlifted to Hospital after head-on Kosciusko crash on Thursday morning , September 3rd 2015

Two drivers were airlifted to hospitals this morning after a head-on crash on Indiana 25 near Mentone, the Kosciusko County sheriff's department said today.

In a statement, the department said sheriff's deputies and emergency workers were called just before 10 a.m. to the crash, east of County Road 1000 West.

Police said George E. May, 55, of Rochester had traveled across the centerline and collided with a car driven by Tyler L. Landrum, 17, of Mentone.

The drivers were removed from their cars and flown to a hospital with injuries to their upper and lower extremities, the statement said.

It said the crash remains under investigation. Mentone and Burket firefighters and Mentone and Life-Med EMS assisted at the scene.
